January 2011
I saw TRON: Legacy last night at an old movie theater in my Nana’s hometown. It blew my goddamn mind how beautifully amazing it was. The opening sequence and the music by Daft Punk choked me up quite a bit because I loved the original so much as a kid.
Something happened that was funny before the movie started. Some people in front of us were talking, a man and his young son and a teenage girl and her mother, about the movie. They asked if it was gonna be good and the man replied that he thought it would be better than the first one and the young girl said that she didn’t know there was a first one. The man said it was made in the 80’s. Her mom turned to her and said: “no wonder you haven’t heard of it”. I rolled my eyes and wanted to lean foreward and say that I was born then and even saw it as a kid.
I have to buy the soundtrack now though.
I’m at my Nana’s house using a flash phone drive thing on my eight year old laptop.
I’m watching the Twilight Zone New Year’s Marathon on Syfy.
My studying is done for the break but not really b/c I’m in grad school. The other thing I noticed about reading in bed is that I keep reading all night long and forget to sleep. This happened when I read Band of Brothers during Christmas break.
I apologize for the tardiness of my reply.
Aww, thank you so much. Christmas was lovely.
Have a Happy New Year! Blow me a kiss at midnight…=]

Texting myself
When I was buying my mum’s gifts today, I saw some Band of Brothers sets behind the counter and I was like:
“I want to watch that RIGHT NOW…”
I’ve been thinking about it all day…even before that…

…and it smells like cotton candy!!!
is it good luck to get a unicorn?
Hahaha!
it sure does. man, i wish my friends would randomly invite me to climb a mountain. Wonderful picture.
I finally went to buy some gifts for my mum. I went with my dad so we could get it done together, you know to save time. Stressfull abit because my dad was so amped up a stressed that it made me all stressed. Normally he’s alright but whenever he gets to gift giving times he is nervous wreck.
I managed to score everything for her that she asked me for plus a bonus. I’m pretty pleased with myself. That sounds terrible…it’s not too much like in years passed but it’s not important. She’s happy as hell that I am home to be here for it now that I am living away from home, going to graduate school.
They’re at a Christmas party thing right now so I probably should be wrapping her presents but I’m just shagged out and watching “Old School”…
Hahaha!
Okay, i think i’m done for the night. Thanks to krista, kelsey and my newest douchetitty for making my day brighter by posting amazing things and responding to me. I see other people post how nice the people are here (make sense?) and I would have to agree, in this case.
I am tempted to tell you to ask me questions while i’m sleeping and dreaming…
Up to you…
G’night and sweet dreams all of you.
I have one I made in 2007 and I downloaded a podcast from MC Lars and his sister this year, which I think counts.
just wondering…

I wanna talk about these two movies I saw before i came home, Mommie Dearest and Tron. I’m wanna start with Mommie Dearest.
My mum had put it on our Netflix for me to watch because she referred to the infamous “hangers’ scene; just the screaming, and urged me to see it. I had it at my apartment for about a month and avoided watching it while working on my final paper for class. One night I just threw in my dvd player. I will say that this movie scared the piss out of me and I’ve seen both Hostel movies and Suspiria.
If you don’t know, it’s the biopic of Joan Crawford in her waning years as a star told from the point of view of her adopted daughter, Christina, who wrote the book the movie is based on. Christina was a victim of child abuse, I have no other way to say it. It was scary to me to see how Joan would continually be horrible to her children, Christina especially because Tina took Joan’s spotlight. Plus, Crawford herself seemed deranged, possibly obsessive compulsive because she kept complaining that things were “never clean”.
During the course of the movie, I began to wonder what made movie makers make this horribleness. It wasn’t until I watched the producer and the actress who played the gron up Christina talk about it in the extras that this creates a dialogue and brings the issue to people’s attention. This film was released in 1981. this issue is still an important issue. I felt better about it all after having that explained to me, so to speak.
There was an interesting opening sequence where they show Joan Crawford’s morning routine from the clock alarm all the way to set/dressing room. And to me it perfectly illustrated how much pressure there was to maintain that image of a “Hollywood Star” and how that kind of thing over a period of years would drive anyone insane. The stress would break anyone but she was still stronger than you’d think.
Even with all I’ve said, and didn’t say, I would suggest seeing it anyway. It’s an interesting exposure of how things seem and how they really are. It also does make me interested to find the book just to what they couldn’t show, if only because there was a scene that showed her brother needing to be strapped into bed, which they didn’t really comment on in the movie. At any rate, it was a great movie, very well made b/c of the detail in the sets and the costumes and even the resemblence of Faye Dunaway as Crawford and her over the top performance.

This is an old picture of me at my mom’s office, wearing my Jawbreaker shirt. It’s a picture of a picture so that’s why the quality is so-so.
Also, you’ll notice that I was still wearing glasses and had not began to wear my blue nail polish yet.
More of a change of plans. I did do some laundry though so it wasn’t like I was not productive.
I eneded up not bringing my PS3 home this time just because i thought it would be a hassle to hook it all back up to my old tv. My dad ended up hooking my PS2 back up for his own means (he has a poker game on it) and I was playing it while washing clothes (1st-Dynasty Warriors 4 and 2nd-Tiger Woods 2005) and I was flooded with memories, muscle memories. It seems I haven’t forgotten how to putt on Woods which is weird because I haven’t played it since 2005.
I thought it would be funny to plug in an ethernet cable in the back and play online. It’d be a ghost town…
don’t worry, m friends, I will be back soon…
thank you so much!!! :)
thank you so much!!! :)
maybe stop shouting…
